Software Engineer, GTM Growth Engineering
About the Team GTM Growth Engineering builds AI-native products and systems that help OpenAI's go-to-market and B2B marketing organizations operate with greater speed, focus, and leverage. Our mandate is revenue leverage: products tied directly to pipeline quality, customer engagement, seller and marketer productivity, and the speed at which OpenAI can bring its technology to customers. We build the infrastructure and user experiences behind high-impact GTM workflows, including customer context, prioritization, routing, campaign execution, review surfaces, feedback loops, and measurement. Our work combines product craft, applied AI, reliable systems, and thoughtful operational design. About the Role We’re looking for a product-minded Software Engineer to build AI-powered products and full-stack experiences for GTM Growth Engineering. You will own meaningful product slices end to end, from user experience and frontend implementation to backend APIs, integrations, data models, instrumentation, and launch readiness. This is a role for engineers who want to build products that do real work in production. You will partner with Product, Design, Data Science, Sales, B2B Marketing, and operations teams to understand high-value workflows and ship systems that improve customer engagement, pipeline, conversion, and team productivity. The role is ideal for a strong product engineer who can move between product craft, systems engineering, applied AI, and measurable business outcomes. You should be excited to build from ambiguous problem statements, ship quickly, and improve products based on real user feedback. What You'll Do Build AI-powered products and workflows that help sales and B2B marketing teams identify opportunities, coordinate work, and engage customers more effectively. Own full-stack product experiences from prototype through launch, instrumentation, iteration, and production hardening. Design intuitive user journeys that combine polished interfaces, reliable services, structured data, and practical AI capabilities. Create product surfaces that help humans review, supervise, and improve automated or AI-assisted workflows. Build reliable frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and integrations with internal tools and business systems. Excitement about applying AI thoughtfully to real workflows and building products that help people do better work. A high bar for UX quality, interaction details, accessibility, reliability, and user empathy. The ability to use product data, qualitative feedback, and experimentation to identify friction and improve outcomes. Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining technical tradeoffs to cross-functional partners. Sound judgment when building products that touch customer data, business processes, and important operational decisions. You Might Thrive If You want to build products that have a visible impact on revenue, customer engagement, and how GTM teams operate. You are excited by products where people, data, and AI work together in real operational workflows. You like discovering the right product direction through shipping, measurement, and iteration. You have strong opinions about product craft but adapt quickly as evidence and user feedback come in. Nice to Have Experience building GTM, sales, B2B marketing, growth, revenue, customer-support, or internal-product systems. Experience building AI-powered applications, agent-assisted workflows, or products that integrate language models. Experience with product analytics, experimentation, telemetry, feedback loops, or lightweight evaluation systems. Applied AI Software Engineer, GTM Growth Engineering
About the Team GTM Growth Engineering builds AI-native products that help OpenAI's go-to-market and B2B marketing organizations scale with greater speed, intelligence, and operational effectiveness. We apply OpenAI models to real business workflows and build the systems that make those applications useful and dependable: customer context, agent behavior, feedback, evaluation, experimentation, and appropriate human oversight. Our work brings together software engineering, applied AI, product, data, and GTM operations. We measure success through the quality of customer engagement, pipeline, conversion, and the effectiveness of our sales and marketing teams. About the Role We're looking for an Applied AI Engineer to build production systems that help AI-powered go-to-market workflows improve over time. You will connect agent behavior, customer and operator feedback, evaluation, experimentation, and business outcomes to make these systems more effective, reliable, and responsive to evolving customer needs. This is a deeply technical, cross-functional role with end-to-end ownership of the agent improvement loop: understand production behavior, identify failure modes, improve how the system decides or acts, and validate the resulting impact. You will partner with Engineering, Product, Data Science, Sales, and B2B Marketing to turn real-world signals into safer, more effective agent behavior and measurable improvements in customer engagement, conversion, qualified pipeline, and team productivity. In this role, you will: Own the production improvement loop across agent behavior, customer and operator feedback, evaluation, experimentation, and verified business outcomes. Instrument agent workflows so model interactions, tool use, decisions, failures, human edits, and downstream outcomes can be understood in context. Define meaningful quality standards, representative evaluation datasets, regression coverage, and production monitoring for real GTM workflows. Investigate why agents underperform across context, knowledge, instructions, tools, routing, guardrails, or workflow design. Design and ship targeted behavior improvements, including changes to prompting, context construction, decision logic, tool use, and human-review paths. Build backend services, APIs, data models, and feedback pipelines that make agent behavior observable, steerable, and reproducible. Run controlled experiments, production replays, or staged rollouts to measure whether changes improve quality and downstream business results. Partner with Product, Data Science, Sales, and B2B Marketing to prioritize high-value problems and define customer and business success. Ship with appropriate safeguards for privacy, security, reliability, human oversight, and safe operational rollout. You might be a great fit if you have: 4+ years of software, backend, applied AI, or product-engineering experience building reliable production systems. Experience building AI agents, LLM-powered applications, or other model-driven workflows that operated on real production traffic. Experience diagnosing and improving agent behavior using production traces, user feedback, evaluation, experimentation, or careful systems design. Practical experience with evaluation design, regression testing, human or model grading, online quality signals, or controlled experiments. Strong backend engineering skills across Python, APIs, data pipelines, stateful workflows, and production services. Strong product judgment and the ability to connect technical changes to customer experience, conversion, qualified pipeline, or operational efficiency. Comfort working across model behavior, context, knowledge, tools, workflow state, and human-in-the-loop decisions. The ability to work closely with technical and non-technical partners across Engineering, Product, Data Science, Sales, and B2B Marketing. A pragmatic mindset: you can scope ambiguous problems, ship useful improvements, and build toward a durable system. You Might Thrive If You want to build AI systems that improve from real usage instead of stopping at a successful prototype. You enjoy tracing messy production failures back to the decision, context, tool interaction, or workflow issue that caused them. You think evaluation is valuable when it helps teams make better product decisions and improve real outcomes. You are comfortable moving between applied AI, backend engineering, experimentation, and product judgment. You like partnering with operators, sales teams, and marketers to understand the work your systems need to improve. You can move from an ambiguous problem to a focused experiment, measured result, and durable implementation. You care about trustworthy deployment, clear human-review paths, and reliable production systems. Nice to Have Experience building agent evaluation, observability, experimentation, or AI infrastructure products. Experience with production replay, LLM grading, human-labeled datasets, shadow evaluation, or staged rollout. Experience improving model or agent behavior through context design, prompting, tools, decision logic, or feedback loops. Experience with sales, B2B marketing, revenue, CRM, campaign, or other GTM-facing systems. Experience measuring customer engagement, qualified pipeline, conversion, or operational efficiency. Product Manager, Legal
About the Team The legal industry team works with law firms, in-house legal departments, legal technology companies, and other members of the legal ecosystem to understand how AI can support serious professional work. The team collaborates across Product, Research, Engineering, Design, Go-to-Market, Partnerships, Safety, Security, and Legal. We believe the strongest progress in legal will be built with the ecosystem. Our goal is to help customers and partners use OpenAI's capabilities in ways that are useful, trustworthy, and complementary to the products, expertise, and relationships that already serve the field. About the Role As a Product Manager you will help lead OpenAI's work with the legal industry. This is a high-ownership, hands-on role for someone who can turn incomplete information into clear priorities and shipped work. We’re looking for people who will spend time with customers and partners, work closely with researchers, engineers, designers, and operators, and keep complex work moving across teams. You will have meaningful ownership, but your success will depend as much on collaboration, follow-through, and judgment as on strategy. Success will depend on detailed, behind-the-scenes work in a fast-moving environment that can sometimes be chaotic. The right person will work very hard, get their hands dirty, and stay calm when the path is unclear. The work is also important and substantive: you will help shape how powerful technology is used in a consequential profession. This role is based in San Francisco, CA. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees. In this role, you will: Turn customer, partner, market, and model evidence into a clear product strategy and roadmap for OpenAI’s work with the legal industry—including what to build, what not to build, and where ecosystem partners should lead. Define requirements and take products from early concept through real-world use and iteration. Lead execution across Research, Engineering, Design, Safety, Security, FDE, Go-to-Market, and Partnerships—resolving ambiguity, surfacing tradeoffs, inspecting outputs, and closing the detailed loops required to ship trustworthy products. You might thrive in this role if you: Have personally built and shipped zero-to-one enterprise, developer, or AI products, and stay close to users, product behavior, and the unglamorous details that determine whether something actually works. Combine strong product judgment with technical curiosity: you can reason from model and evaluation evidence, distinguish model, data, workflow, trust, and delivery problems, and change direction when the facts change. Earn credibility with demanding practitioners and partners, collaborate with low ego across teams you do not manage, and bring clarity, pace, and calm to complex, fast-moving work. Legal or regulated-industry experience is helpful, but a J.D. is not required. About the Team The B2B Marketing team is responsible for helping businesses understand, adopt, and get value from OpenAI’s products. B2B marketing is a major and growing priority for OpenAI as we scale our work with companies, developers, and institutions around the world. About the Role Within B2B Marketing, Demand Generation builds the integrated, full-funnel engine that connects audience insights, content, field and digital experiences, paid media, lifecycle, and sales follow-through to qualified pipeline. We partner closely with Sales, Partnerships, Product Marketing, Communications, Creative, Web, RevOps, Analytics, and regional teams to create a cohesive customer experience and scale what works. We’re looking for a Senior Webinar & Digital Events Strategist to redefine webinars and digital experiences as a high-quality demand channel. You’ll own audience strategy, portfolio design, programming principles, conversion paths, and performance recommendations while partnering closely with a Webinar Marketing Manager on production and delivery. This is a hands-on role for a strategic operator who can create compelling experiences and build the pre-event, live, and post-event systems required to turn engagement into qualified demand. In this role, you will: Owning the webinar and digital events strategy, including audience priorities, portfolio architecture, editorial themes, formats, calendar, investment decisions, and success measures. Designing experiences for specific buyer needs and journey stages, with a clear value exchange, CTA, follow-up path, and connection to broader campaigns. Partnering with Product Marketing, Content, speakers, customers, and subject-matter experts to create differentiated programs that make complex AI topics useful and concrete. Working closely with the Webinar Marketing Manager and production partners to translate strategy into clear briefs, run-of-show requirements, launch plans, QA, and delivery standards. Building integrated pre- and post-event motions across paid, email, web, social, SDR, Sales, and account-based channels to reach the right audiences and sustain momentum. Establishing qualification, routing, seller context, and follow-up expectations so high-intent engagement receives timely and relevant action. Defining measurement across audience quality, registration-to-attendance, engagement, CTA behavior, qualified leads, account progression, pipeline, and content reuse. Using performance data and audience feedback to improve the portfolio, retire low-value formats, and create reusable programming and activation playbooks. You might thrive in this role if you have: 10+ years of experience across B2B webinars, digital events, experience marketing, content programming, or integrated campaigns, ideally within a complex or technical category. A track record of building programs that create qualified demand and pipeline—not simply registrations, attendance, or engagement. Strong understanding of audience strategy, programming, speaker development, digital attendee journeys, promotion, production, follow-up, and measurement. Experience leading complex cross-functional programs with executives, subject-matter experts, customers, agencies, technical partners, and sales teams. Excellent editorial judgment and the ability to translate sophisticated ideas into clear, compelling audience experiences. Strong analytical discipline and comfort using audience, engagement, conversion, and pipeline data to make portfolio and investment decisions. The ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on problem solving in high-visibility, fast-moving environments. Identifying and validating new demand channels through structured pilots with clear hypotheses, guardrails, success thresholds, and scale-or-stop decisions. Deep knowledge of segmentation, nurture, personalization, automation, experimentation, deliverability, consent, and lifecycle measurement. Hands-on fluency with enterprise marketing automation and CRM concepts; Marketo and Salesforce experience is valuable, though strong equivalent experience is welcome. A track record of improving meaningful business outcomes such as qualified conversion, activation, pipeline, adoption, retention, or expansion. Strong systems thinking and the ability to translate customer and business needs into decision rules, journey logic, and clear execution requirements. Excellent partnership skills across technical, analytical, creative, sales, and customer-facing teams. Comfort working through imperfect data and evolving processes while building toward a more reliable and scalable operating system. Build a disciplined testing agenda across audiences, messaging, offers, channels, landing experiences, and nurture paths, scaling what works and stopping low-impact programs. Establish a segment-level performance view across lead quality, conversion, qualified pipeline, velocity, efficiency, and downstream revenue outcomes. Identify where programs and journeys can scale across segments and where Mid-Market and SMB require materially different audiences, messaging, experiences, or sales motions. Create operating rhythms, briefs, and decision frameworks that keep cross-functional partners aligned on goals, dependencies, owners, decisions, and next actions. You might thrive in this role if you have: 10+ years experience doing B2B demand generation, growth, segment marketing, or integrated campaign experience, ideally spanning both sales-assisted and higher-velocity motions. A track record of translating revenue goals into audience strategies, campaign plans, funnel assumptions, and measurable pipeline outcomes. Strong understanding of segmentation, lifecycle journeys, digital acquisition, conversion optimization, lead management, and Sales/SDR alignment. Strong analytical fluency across funnel performance, cohort analysis, experimentation, budget tradeoffs, and channel economics. The ability to create clear strategy while staying close enough to execution to unblock teams, identify opportunities, and improve the work. Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional partners in fast-moving, matrixed environments. Strong customer judgment and the ability to translate complex products into relevant, credible programs for distinct audiences.
